MY GRAND DAUGHTER RECEIVED THE SOOTHE & GLOW FOR CHRISTMAS WHEN SHE WAS 8 MONTHS OLD. WHEN WATCHING MY GRAND DAUGHTER ONE DAY AT HER HOUSE I PUT HER DOWN FOR A NAP AND AS SOON AS I TOUCHED THE SOOTHE & GLOW TUMMY SHE ROLLED TO HER SIDE TO SEE IT AND PUT HER HAND ON IT. SHE FELL ASLEEP SO QUICKLY. SHE LOVES IT, SO I BOUGHT ONE TO HAVE AT MY HOUSE WHEN I WHEN I WATCH HER ONE DAY A WEEK. I WILL ALSO GIVE THEM AS GIFTS FOR NEW PARENTS.

Great Way to Calm and Infant March 5, 2010

We were given one of these as a shower gift for our son. We turned it one for him one night when he was extremely fussy, and it worked like magic. Now he listens to it every night to fall asleep and it works wonders for calming him down when he's crying.

I got this toy for my baby for Christmas and wow, my four month old son loves this toy.. it is by far his favorite!! We take it everywhere with us because it puts him right to sleep when he's very fussy (he always fights naptime). He loves to hug it in his carseat, his stroller or in his crib for naptime and cries when he gets put down without it! We bought a Gloworm first (don't recommend) and this seahorse is much better for the price. The batteries have had to be changed x 2 since Decemeber which is really not bad considering we use it multiple times a day. Would definately buy again! My sister in law is having a baby and this is one of the first must haves I am getting for her.
It's BRIGHT and LOUD (you can fix that...), and great to use as a flashlight in the crib! March 3, 2010

It really is a cute little toy, but when I first tried it out, it was SOOO bright and loud, WAY too much to be soothing, at least to MY little one! I just can't imagine it wouldn't wake your child up MORE if he or she were trying to soothe themselves to sleep....Anyway, there's an easy fix for that - DUCT TAPE! I put some over most of the speaker, and put a couple of strips over the belly (obviously on the plastic insert that's INSIDE the outer cloth cover, NOT on the outside of the toy!!), and it's been great since! Yes, there IS a volume control (also on the insert), but it's STILL too loud! I've had it in my daughter's crib since she was tiny (it's not really plush, so I had no fears of her rolling up against it and suffocating), and I've seen her play with it from time to time, but mostly I've used it myself as a convenient flashlight - when I go in to check on her, if I need to find a paci, adjust her blanket, etc. Would definitely recommend it (with the above adjustments)!
