2 out of 5 stars Wish the tunes it plays could be replicated by the keyboard   August 23, 2010
Wayne-in-Seattle (Seattle, WA)
Each key plays a note, and then plays a different tune. Only one of the songs (mary had a little lamb) can be played by someone on the keys. I wish there was a similar toy that had enough keys to alow a child to discover how to replicate the songs.

3 out of 5 stars Very quiet and not safe for the older babies crib.   August 20, 2010
Micheal Mathews (Alexandria, Virginia, USA)
When I pulled this out and turned it on the first thing I thought was, "Wow, it's really quiet."
Regardless my daughter started banging happily on it and really liked the lights. As a matter of fact she went pretty nuts on this thing, loved it at first.
And though we could barely hear it she seemed pretty happy so we tied it into the crib.

Here's the problem. At 7 months my daughter has recently learned to pull herself up and is trying desperately to get out of her crib. She found out pretty quickly that she could wedge the piano on the mattress and use it as a stepping stool. Now the key board bends under her weight but it does give her a bit of a boost. Much as I'd love to leave it in because she likes it, anything that can be climbed on needs to be taken out of the crib so out it went. We left it on the floor for her to play with and after a few days she got bored with it.

My guess is that it's too quiet, even on the loudest settings. I did try replacing the batteries and nothing.
Not sure if i got a bad model but with out the feedback it's just not that interesting to her.
I'm giving it 3 stars since she really did seem to like it and other reviews don't seem to have my issue.
However!
If your baby can pull themselves up to standing, I wouldn't recommend this for the crib, could lead to some bumps and bruises.

5 out of 5 stars Only way to get her in the cirb!   August 4, 2010
Amy L. Lowry (Oklahoma)
When we first bought this for her (at 5 months) she had no interest whatsoever but within a month she was beating on it. She has never kicked it but likes to push on it. This is the only reason she will go in her crib without being there to sleep. Sometimes she doesn't want to get out because the song that it plays isn't over. This has been a lifesaver!

5 out of 5 stars Fisher Price Kick piano   July 7, 2010
Joanne Balkaran
I think this is a great product to get for your infant between 3-8 months. It teaches them cause and effect. My baby was fascinated with the music after she kicks a sound. I would definately recommend iy. The only problem is that the triggers are on the piano keys so if she kicks elsewhere on the piano, it makes no sound. There are only 4 keys, so they have to kick on the spot or else no effect

4 out of 5 stars My 3 month old really likes it.   June 21, 2010
C. A. Petersen
He loves the manual mode when he hits the keys and the songs play and the lights turn on. Some disadvantages- hard for baby laying on their back to see the keyboard. Also if the baby kicks to high, nothing happens. As a piano that makes sense, but trying teach a child cause and effect, it could be a little more sensitive.
