This product was great for the long trips this summer. My kids wanted it off of their laps after an hour or so, but not because the product was bothersome. They are just ancy kids in general! They liked being able to put their cups in the pockets on the side, and I liked how it kept their toys in one place (not on the floor) while they were playing. With the clasp releases on both sides, I was able to reach back from the front seat and snap off my toddler's tray when she was tired of it. It's a quality product that will accompany us on all of our trips.

So far these trays are exactly as advertised. We purchased two of them to use with our twin 3 year olds on our upcoming plane trip. We put them on the car seats today and pretended we were on the airplane to get the kids ready for the trip. My son played matchbox cars on his tray for 30 minutes and seemed to really enjoy having his own little play area. I don't feel they are flimsy at all, just made of foam and vinyl as advertised. I think they are made to sit on your child's lap and perhaps the flimsy comments are from people using car seats with high sides on the lap area. I could see if you had a carseat with really high sides where the child sits, this would cause a lot of gap between the tray and the child's lap, causing it to possible cave in the middle a little bit, but again, not more than I expect with the product description. I feel better having the softness and flexibility for safety reasons than I would a hard tray. Another nice aspect is the clip on each side, this way you can undo the tray from either side, something handy in cramped spaces I assume.
I will update this post after the trip but so far I am very happy I bought these to use on the airplane, shipping was very fast as well which I always appreciate.

I purchased two of the travel trays for a long car trip for my daughters - ages 4 and 2 1/2. I was a bit worried that the trays would not work based on some of the other reviews but did not have a better option. The trays worked okay but my daughters were not very excited about having them on. We were traveling during the summer and the major complaint from my kids was that their legs got hot and sweaty. I agree with previous reviews in that the trays tilt toward the child so crayons, pens, etc would roll down into their laps. In addition, the trays are very soft so I had to take cookie sheets to put on the trays so they could color. I will be keeping them but will modify them next time so they work a little better.

We purchased these for our vacation. Our kids (ages 2, 2, and 5) used them for coloring, eating, pushing hot wheel cars, looking at books, etc. They were sturdy enough for all of their activities and soft enough for safety. We now keep them in the car and use them when we are out and about. Many times we do not use the strap and they still work.

I really like the idea behind this product. The tray is soft enough to collapse in an accident, yet firm enough to color or draw on. My daughter really likes using it for playing with balls and cars as well as for eating snacks in the car. It keeps her toys near her and they don't fall all over the back seat. The trouble is our car seat (Evenflo Symphony) has side "wings" so the tray does not fit snugly next to her belly. There is a space between my daughter's belly and the tray where snacks fall and sometimes she has to reach to color on the surface. Just be sure your car seat can accomodate this tray before purchasing. Otherwise it is an awsome product. Very easy to wipe clean.
