Editorial Review
Here's another great LeapFrog innovation that lets children play and learn at the same time. The Imagination Desk Learning System teaches kids letters, numbers, phonics, counting, and vocabulary on a lively multimedia desk. As a child colors in the pages, they come to life with characters, games, and music that teach letters, colors, and other preschool skills. Three engaging modes (learn, game, and music) offer tons of variety for kids as they play, extending both the fun and appeal of the desk. The set includes the interactive learning desk, the "Let's Learn Letters" coloring book, and crayons. The unit features volume control, storage for templates and supplies, and a carrying handle. It uses four AA batteries (not included).

3 out of 5 stars Discontinued by LeapFrog?   March 14, 2009

I purchased our Imagination Desk (it originally cost around $25.00 when it came out) for my first daugther when she was about 3, she enjoyed it for a while then got bored with it, she would tear out all the pages and use them up so fast there was nothing left to color. I did not even think of photocopying them since the books stated that you could simply go online to print new pages. That link is no longer active and LeapFrog has nothing about the Imagination Desk on it's website at all. So apparently they have cut all ties to this product. My second daughter is now 3 and we recently "found" the Imagination Desk stashed in my older daughter's stuff. My 3 yr. old is very interested in using the Imagination Desk but we can't get new coloring pages without purchasing them all over again, which is kind of a bummer, since we already have the cartridges. I can understand LeapFrog discontinuing further production of a product that seems to have had so many flaws in it's design. Actually, I'm confused why they didn't try to improve it? But to completely cut-off their supply of the coloring books used for that toy when so many people do still have it and want to use it, that doesn't sound like very good business to me. What exactly would be the harm in LeapFrog's website keeping the free replacement coloring pages available to their customers? It doesn't make any sense. And this product is definitly NOT worth the price listed here.
Someone on here commented that the books don't stay put in the coloring board, you are supposed to tear the page out and insert one page at a time in order for it to work. Yes, the outer frame does come off easily, but it also goes back on just as easily. We didn't have any issues with ours, just that all the repeating would kind of get to me and I'd have to put it away for a while. My girls like this product, it's just too bad we can't replenish our supply of coloring pages like the books stated we could.

5 out of 5 stars Love it   October 18, 2006

My daughter got this as a gift for her 3rd Birthday. She has played with it a lot over the past couple of years. My daughter is now 5 (almost 6)and currently reads at a 2nd grade level and already knows how to add and subtract. However, she is still asking for more books and coloring pages for her imagination desk. It is a great/interactive way to enjoy coloring and learning. I can't wait to use it with my twin girls when they are old enough. Kudos to Leapfrog for all of thier products. My daughter loves them all including the Imagination desk.

4 out of 5 stars Great toy with all the added cartridges   January 10, 2006

I bought this toy for my now 5 year old son last year for Christmas....it has been played with over the last year off and on but now that my daughter now 3 is more involved I am sure it will be a winner. Both my kids love coloring and I am sure this will be a toy they cant wait to fight over...Ha-Ha!For Christmas I bought them several new cartridges ....for the women who couldnt find any I found them at KBTOYS.COM ....the cartridges when I bought them were a very good price considering you can photo-copy them over and over and they still work in the desk.I also found some at Pamida or try Shopko....they may also carry some.I give any toy that is educational and can be used over and over again(also the option of photo-coping or printing from the internet)my thumbs up!!!!

I think this product works great and would recommend it to anyone with little ones learning their ABC's. This was a birthday present for my son and he loves it. We haven't had any function problems with the Imagination Desk or any of the other Leapfrog products we have in our home.(and we have many) My new favorite...Leapster!!!! I think Leapfrog makes good quality, educational toys for kids in a wide range of ages.
