Baby loves it! July 22, 2010 Carrie S. This mirror is not distorted like some baby mirrors, it shows an accurate reflection, not like a fun house mirror. That is important for babies who are learning to recognize themselves and react to faces. My daughter is 6 months old, and loves to look in this mirror when she is on her tummy. She can reach and play with the little leaves and toys around the mirror. The mirror folds open in a triangle shape, so there is a piece of fabric on the bottom that connects the two top standing pieces to form the triangle. This keeps it from spreading open and getting knocked over all the time. The baby still knocks it over on its side a lot, but not that big of a deal...she is a baby, and that is what babies do. We just stand it back up when she knocks it over. The colors are nice and bright.
My Son's Favorite Thing June 22, 2010 Lauren (Austin, TX USA) We got this for my son when he was born as I was told by a friend that babies love mirrors. Well, my son is 7 months now and it is still his favorite toy when he is playing on his mat in his room. He can stare at it for a long time, and tries to eat the bugs, enjoying the crunchy noise their wings make. And now that he has started crawling, he actually grips the leaves near the lady bug and drags the mirror with him to where ever his new location will be. We used to keep it velcro'd in his crib but had to take it out because the strong little bugger would pull-it off and then proceed to cry.
Like a Funhouse Mirror June 21, 2010 Jerry Palmerino Jr (United States) The photo of this product does not accurately reflect what is shipped. The problenm is with the fabric that connects the two sides of the mirror together. In the photo, there is no fabric filling in the gap between the two sides. The product that is shipped has fabric that fills in the space between the two sides. This causes this product to topple over easily because you cannot open the mirror up to a large enough angle. It is constantly falling over.
As for the mirror itself, it is simply a funhouse style mirror that stretches and contorts your baby's face in all directions. I am left wondering what sort of developmental effect this actually has on a child.
Our baby loves looking at himself in a real mirror when we hold him up to it. Unfortunately, he is not as enthusiastic about seeing himself in this mirror.
Ok June 10, 2010 K. Estell I am disappointed with this. It's ok. It meets the minimum description of the product. But there are a couple problems.
1) The velcro loops for hanging it in the crib are on the side of the ladybug. This means when hung, the ladybug is upside down. There was a picture on the box that showed the ladybug rotated, but mine is sewn down, so there is no way to make it right side up while hung on the crib rail.
2) When hung the velcro that holds the mirror "easel" closed pulls the fabric out, so that it really doesn't hang straight.
3) The mirror does have some distortion, especially around the edges.
So yeah. It wasn't so bad that I went to the effort to return it, but I wouldn't rec it to a friend.
What's not to like? June 3, 2010 Target Shopaholic (SF, CA) Okay, it's fairly light so it does tip over easily if not attached to the crib. True, picture is misleading in that it looks like there's a gap between the two boards. Somebody wrote that their toy detaches but mine doesn't... my baby is constantly trying to pull the bumblebee off!
