Product Description Engage little ones with this activity barnyard with lots of fun surprises! It's shaping up to be a fun day at the Shape Sorting Barn. Here Baby can sort it all out - matching shapes and letters while learning numbers, colors and animal names, too! When it's clean-up time, just herd everyone inside, grab the handle and go keeping it all together for the next time Baby plays. The clock has a movable hand that clicks and clacks to make learning numbers fun. It helps little ones develop hand-eye coordination, while teaching cause and effect. There's also a cute cow and a happy horse tumbler. Fun rooster beads spin and side! Easy-to-grasp letters and farm friends help Baby match shapes and learn colors.

Cute, but very cheap packaging. March 10, 2010 Kristine A. Nicholas (Boston, MA USA) This is a cute toy, but I was surprised to find that it came in basic plastic wrap -- not hard plastic mind you, but more like saran wrap. I had bought it as a gift, and I felt like the packaging really made the toy look cheaper. If you are buying this for your own child, you will probably appreciate the packaging, since it's so easy to get the toy out, but if you're buying it for a gift, you probably will not.
Enjoyable enough February 5, 2010 M. Rodriguez (San Antonio, TX) My daughter got this when she was 6 months old, so she was a little young to truly appreciate it for what you're supposed to actually do with it. That being said, she really did enjoy crawling over to it, pulling out the animals and either crawling away with them or sucking on them, and they are large enough that I didn't have to worry about her choking or getting them stuck in throat. Now that she's older, she really enjoys the clock, chickens and spinning thing on the sides. She's not so crazy about the letters-they are difficult to get into the holes unless you line them up just right AND push them in-she doesn't really have the patience for that. She does still enjoy the animals, although most of the time she pulls them off, opens the barn door and plays farm. As a sorting toy, it's lacking, but if you have a child who is creative, like most kids, they will surprise you and end up using it for something other than what it was intended-in this case, playing farm, not learning shapes. Either way, the bright colors are fun and it provides some good entertainment. I LOVE it because it makes NO NOISE!!! So that gives me a break from all the songs, voices, and funny instructions that many of her other toys have.
My daughter loves this! January 18, 2010 Jennifer L. Lucas I first let my daughter play with this around 6 months and she liked chewing on the animals and letters. When she started walking, she enjoyed carrying the barn around with her. At about 11 months she discovered the fun of opening and closing the barn door and soon after figured out that she could put things inside the barn. She's almost 14 months now and loves to play with it either alone or with a parent. She doesn't put the animals in the spots or the letters through the sorting holes, but she loves it nonetheless.
As for the review about the unsturdy nature of the plastic animals, I completely disagree. My daughter is a very aggressive chewer and after 8 months, all the pieces are still as good as new. The only real complaint I have about this barn is that the clock on one side is practically impossible for any child to turn. It's somewhat difficult for my husband and me to turn.. it's very tight and hard to get a good grip on. But at this point, my daughter couldn't care less about that.. I'd be surprised if she even realizes that it moves.

I hate this toy. My daughter received it as a gift when she was 1, and she and my nephew would constantly fight to play with it. But they couldn't use the ABC shape sorter by themselves... they always needed help. So unless I had time to sit and play with them for 20 mins it was a complete disaster. But again, the kids did love it, and now we've had it for about 2 years. My daughter still plays with it, and now she helps my 1yr old son use they toy. But I almost tossed this toy out on more than one occasion.
Simple toy but classic fun October 12, 2009 A. Dowdall (Upstate NY, United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very simple toy, doesn't make noise, basic shape sorter. And we like it! My son is under 12 months, but he enjoys handling the animals, opening the barn door, and I go over the letters and animal names with him. It's easy to clean, which I like. I'd say this is good from over 6 months to whenever they get bored with it. It's a colorful toy at a reasonable price! (if you get it on sale, like I did!)
